Yes, it might seem like one long corridor with a bar on one side, but aren't half the bars in NYC like that? Somehow, virtually every time I've been to the Dead Poet I've enjoyed myself. The great bar tenders help - friendly, fair, fun - but there's other good things: the pool table at the back rarely has a long queue, a good selection of beer leaves the taste buds satisfied, but I think it's the mix of people that make it great. Not fratty like the bars down the block, not oldie like some places, just right.
