Although something off its game from a decade ago, this is still the best beer bar in Dallas.

Avoid Fri/Sat nights, unless you want to get crushed in the SMU meatmarket. Sunday afternoons are the best time to come and relax. Quiet, edible food in a pinch, cigars allowed on the porch. Well-behaved dogs allowed under the table.

In the 90s this place was astounding, with deadly serious beerskilled wenches behind the bar. They could make meaningful suggestions and hold forth on beer in respectable fashion. Now they have waitresses. :-( Just as cute but perfectly average.
