I make an annual pilgrimage to the Rogue Brewery every July and this is always the first brew I ask for while there. A very rich and smooth stout.

Quite simply one of the best beers of America. The flavor is complex with chocolate, coffee and malt. There is the tiniest hoppy bite that prevents the flavor from becoming cloying. Theis beer is, for me, the perfect session beer, because for all its flavor and strength, it has a fairly low alcohol content, so you drink a great deal of it.

Milk smooth, with a beautiful, round body. The finish is silky smooth. There is a hint of bitterness, but only enough to remind you that it is a stout. This beer perfectly travels the razor edge between dark and too dark. This is the best stout brewed in America. At least Michael Jackson says so. No! Not that Michael Jackson! The other Michael Jackson! What kind of beer snob are you, not knowing who Micheal Jackson is. Look it up!
