Much to my surprise, the Boston Beer Company brought back Samuel Adams Honey Porter earlier this year. Delighted, I bought a six pack but found that either the recipe or my tastes (probably my tastest) have changed. It's not bad, but it's definitely on the sweet side. Three stars this time around.

Sam Adams Honey Porter was always a favorite of mine, but over the years I branched out to try other beers... when I remembered it and went in search of a six pack, I discovered it had been discontinued! Nevertheless, I'm added a record here for Honey Porter in memoriam, so that other fans can see what else is on each others' shelves.
It was a typical porter with (not surprisingly) a honey flavor element that I remember as being very complimentary and subtle, not at all cloying like High Falls Brewing's J.W. Dundee's Honey Brown.
