I agree with "bizzach" in that this is a type of "brown guinness". The head is great...I'm a big fan of foam. Very tasty and has an extremely smooth finish. I will be buying again.

Belhaven is a very tasty beer. I was introduced to it as sort of an alternative to Guinness. To me, it reminds me of a 'brown Guinness,' in that the head takes quite some time to settle. It's much better on tap... I've had the cans with the widget, but it doesn't quite taste the same. To me, it's more 'filling' than Guinness.
All in all, a very drinkable, distinctive beer.

Belhaven Scottish Ale is a great introduction to Brit Isle beer for the newly emancipated Budweiser drinker. Great amber flavor, easy to drink, with a decent head. Great in a bottle or on tap (if you can find it on tap).
